Our mission is to be highly effective, relevant, accepted and sustainable all inclusive centre which provides a wide programme of activities which encourages participation and meets the needs of the wider community of Newcastle.
Developed and built in 1982, the Community Centre has been a hub of activity in Newcastle Village for many years. You can find out more about our history here. We also work hard to ensure the longer term viability of this Community Centre by working to access community grants and encourage a degree of self-sustainability by generating income from the services we provide in order to cover operating costs.
The centre can accommodate a range of parties, celebrations, talks or classes. Cost for hire of the centre is from €40.00 per hour. Parties are usually booked from 2pm to 4pm. Centre is opened an hour prior so hosts can set up. No charge for set up hour. The centre has two courts that can be used for a range of activities and a meeting room that can be used for a range of activities or meet ups. We have a fully functioning kitchen and this space can be rented out for cooking classes. We also have a disability toilet with shower. Our vegetable beds were erected at the end of 2021.
